Marquee Youth Stage teams up with Blackberry Polo Club for 1950s-style benefit

Blackberry Polo Club is turning back the clock for a great cause with “A Wop Bop A Loo Bop!,” a 1950s-themed polo fundraiser on Sunday, July 27.

The event will be noon to 4 p.m.at the Blackberry Polo Club, 1S990 Old Bliss Road in Batavia. Gates open at 11 a.m., and all proceeds benefit Marquee Youth Stage, a local nonprofit dedicated to empowering young performers through accessible theater education and experiences.

Guests will enjoy a thrilling polo match featuring some of the Midwest’s top players, with the match kicking off at 1 p.m.

Marquee Youth Stage will provide live musical performances from its talented young stars before the game, along with a full afternoon of family-friendly fun. Attendees can join in a 1950s-themed picnic tailgate contest (no grills), try their luck at a 50/50 raffle and basket raffle, and keep kids entertained with face painting and games in the activity tent.

Classic concessions — including hot dogs, Panera sandwiches, snacks, candy, and soft drinks — will be available for purchase throughout the day. Guests are encouraged to dress in their best 1950s attire and decorate their vehicles for a chance to win tailgate prizes.

This year’s event brings even more excitement — a generous Marquee cast member family has pledged to match all donations raised up to $25,000.

This extraordinary commitment means that every dollar contributed by attendees and supporters will go twice as far in helping Marquee Youth Stage complete vital upgrades to their new performance space at 220 N. Randall Road in St. Charles and continue serving over 1,000 local youth each year.

“A Wop Bop A Loo Bop!” promises something for everyone: polo fans, theater lovers, and families looking for a unique summer outing. With tickets just $40 per vehicle, it’s an affordable way to enjoy a day of community spirit while supporting Marquee Youth Stage’s mission and taking advantage of this exciting matching gift opportunity.

Tickets are available now at givebutter.com/myspolo. For more information, to purchase tickets by phone, or to sponsor the polo event, call (630) 762-0354, or email Connie Flores at connie.flores@marqueeyouth.org.
