Aurora seeks public’s advice on finances, sustainability, housing, safety and youth

Aurora has established public transition committees to provide recommendations for city departments.

The city now is seeking applicants for the five new advisory committees. Applications are due July 7. Visit aurora.il.us/PTC for details.

The finance and responsibility committee will create a 100-day goal and develop a four-year budget and finance plan.

The sustainability and development committee will develop a climate plan and a plan to preserve the city’s natural green spaces.

The housing committee will discuss accessibility, affordability, green building and homelessness.

The public safety committee will design a plan for crime prevention and community involvement.

The supporting youth and education committee will develop after-school programs and “liberatory education” initiatives.
