This renovation was made possible in part by a $400,000 Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development grant awarded by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. The total project cost is expected to be approximately $900,000.
The mission of the Itasca Park District is to efficiently and economically provide education, recreation, facilities, and open space that are designed to provide health and wellness, social equity and conservation experiences that benefit the community.
The OSLAD Grant program was established by the Illinois General Assembly in 1986 as a result of the IAPD's legislative advocacy efforts to provide financial assistance to local government agencies for the acquisition and development of land for public parks and open space.
