Improvements coming to Buffalo Grove Road

A stretch of Buffalo Grove Road through Buffalo Grove, Arlington Heights and Wheeling could be reconstructed under a plan being developed by the Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways.

The agency is focusing on a 2.1-mile stretch between Weiland and Hintz roads.

The pavement would be rebuilt and restriped, drainage would be improved and new traffic signals and sidewalk would be installed, among other improvements.

The proposal is in the planning phase. Construction could begin in 2027.

An open house about the proposed project is set for Wednesday, June 25, at Buffalo Grove village hall, 50 Raupp Blvd. It’ll run from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
