Turning Pointe’s annual golf benefit to feature trailblazing golfer and advocate Amy Bockerstette

Turning Pointe Autism Foundation in Naperville will host its annual golf outing and Brunch & Browse on Monday, July 14, at the Butterfield Country Club in Oak Brook.

This year’s event features a special guest and keynote speaker: Amy Bockerstette, the trailblazing athlete whose viral performance at the 2019 WM Phoenix Open inspired millions and led to the founding of her nonprofit, the I GOT THIS Foundation.

Amy, the first person with Down syndrome to compete in a national collegiate golf championship and receive an athletic scholarship, will speak at the Brunch & Browse event, sharing her remarkable story of resilience, courage, and determination.

In 2024, Bockerstette and the I GOT THIS Foundation partnered with Turning Pointe Autism Foundation to host a golf clinic for neurodiverse individuals, reinforcing the power of inclusion in sports and beyond.

Her continued collaboration with Turning Pointe amplifies her belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to say “I got this” on the course, in the workplace, and in life. Her message of inclusion and empowerment is sure to be one of the highlights of the day.

Registration for golf begins at 10 a.m. along with the Brunch & Browse featuring boutique shopping and keynote from Amy Bockerstette.

The shotgun start for the golf outing will begin at 12:30 p.m.

Honoring excellence

Turning Pointe Autism Foundation introduced the Dan Wolf Sr. Memorial Award, a new annual honor recognizing extraordinary individuals who exemplify the values of compassion, integrity, and unwavering commitment to community.

This prestigious award is named in memory of Wolf, a beloved leader and advocate known for his deep generosity, humility, and enduring impact on the lives of others. Wolf dedicated his life to service, business leadership, and philanthropy that made a meaningful difference, especially in the lives of individuals with autism.

The award is intended to honor individuals who, like Wolf, lead not with fanfare but with purpose.

Turning Pointe is honored to present the inaugural Dan Wolf Sr. Memorial Award to Jay Ferguson, whose steadfast support, kindness, and integrity have left a lasting mark on our organization and the community we serve. Jay’s actions reflect the same spirit of dedication and quiet generosity that defined Wolf Sr.’s legacy.

Chris Maul has been selected as the recipient of the 2025 True North Award, a long-standing tradition that recognizes outstanding leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment to Turning Pointe’s mission.

The True North Award is presented annually to an individual who exemplifies the values and direction that guide Turning Pointe: integrity, purpose, and a dedication to empowering individuals with autism through education, vocational training, and compassionate care. Like a compass pointing toward true north, the recipient serves as a guiding force, keeping the organization focused on what matters most.

Chris Maul has demonstrated these values through years of dedicated service, advocacy, support and now leadership as a board member. As a member of the Turning Pointe board of directors, he has helped guide the organization through pivotal growth and change this year. He is not only a strategic thinker, but a person who leads with heart always putting students, families, and mission at the forefront.

More than just golf

This year’s outing is packed with exciting activities and surprises — too many to list. Attendees will have the chance to win a yearlong Lexus lease, Putt Your Way to the Masters, and explore the art exhibit hall featuring stunning artwork created by Turning Pointe students. From luxury raffle items to interactive sponsor experiences and exclusive boutique shopping, the day promises something memorable for every guest.

Brunch & Browse is a special addition to the annual golf outing, designed to celebrate and uplift women in our community, caregivers, educators, advocates, and supporters.

Guests will enjoy a stylish brunch experience, inspiring programming, and a curated boutique shopping experience. Freida Rothman, the renowned New York-based luxury jewelry designer, will be in attendance with her latest collections.

In addition, attendees can shop a selection of unique and elegant offerings from various local women-owned businesses and vendors from Regenerate Boutique and Somnvie, making this a morning of connection, inspiration, and meaningful support for the Turning Pointe mission.

Supporting a worthy cause

All proceeds from the event will benefit Turning Pointe Autism Foundation’s life-changing programs and services, which support individuals with autism in building independence, developing job skills, and accessing meaningful learning opportunities.

“This outing is about more than golf — it’s about community, inclusion, and creating possibilities,” said Carrie Provenzale, executive director of Turning Pointe. “Having Amy with us to share her journey makes this year’s event especially powerful.”
