Lombard Garden Club hosts ‘Gardening for Life’ talk
The Lombard Garden Club is hosting a program on “Gardening for Life” at 1 p.m. Friday, June 27, at the Helen Plum Library, 411 S. Main St. in Lombard.
Speaker Marilyn Joyner is an adjunct faculty member at College of DuPage with a degree in ornamental horticulture.
One of her many accomplishments was developing a customized horticulture program for the Ray Graham organization and Sequin Services.
The presentation focuses on insight for selecting the right plants in your garden, use of ergonomic tools, raised beds and vertical systems to support enjoyment of gardening as you age.
In addition to demonstrating proper body mechanics, she will show the stretching exercises she uses on a daily basis. There is no charge and the public is welcome to attend.
The Lombard Garden Club, celebrating 100 years in 2026, is an award-winning organization that promotes an interest in gardening and the beautification of the landscape in the community. The club welcomes fellow gardeners who enjoy learning opportunities and the company of others. For information, visit www.lombardgardenclub.org.
