Glen Ellyn’s Freedom Four run/walk to benefit parks foundation scholarship fund

Kick off your Fourth of July with a healthy tradition the whole family can enjoy!

The Freedom Four is a 4-mile run/walk that takes you on a scenic route around Lake Ellyn Park and the charming surrounding neighborhood. Whether you're a seasoned runner chasing a personal record or a casual walker enjoying the fresh air, this event welcomes participants ages 5 and up.

More than just a race

The Freedom Four goes beyond the finish line. It’s about celebrating community spirit and supporting a great cause. A portion of the proceeds benefits the Glen Ellyn Parks Foundation’s Scholarship Fund, ensuring underprivileged families have access to recreation and athletic programs offered through the Glen Ellyn Park District.

It will begin at 7:30 a.m. Friday, July 4, at Lake Ellyn Park, 645 Lenox Road, Glen Ellyn.

Compete for top honors

Awards are given to the top two male and female finishers in each age group. Everyone who participates will receive a commemorative Freedom Four T-shirt (guaranteed for early bird registrants, while supplies last for others).

Register online at FreedomFourRun.com until 7:30 a.m. on race day. Registration fees are tiered to encourage early sign-ups:

• Early bird: $28 (Now-June 23)

• Regular: $34 (June 24-July 3)

• Day of race: $40 (online or in-person)
