Factor donates refrigerated vans and ready-to-eat meals to Aurora area pantries
Factor, America’s leading ready-to-eat meal delivery service, donated five refrigerated vans to hunger relief organizations serving the Aurora area at a community event held June 4 at its local facility.
The donation highlights Factor’s continued commitment to fighting food insecurity in the communities it serves.
In Illinois, one in eight people face food insecurity, meaning they lack reliable access to the nutritious food essential for a healthy lifestyle.
Recognizing the importance of distributing fresh meals and produce to underserved communities, Factor donated refrigerated vans to Northern Illinois Food Bank, Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry, Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry, Loaves & Fishes Community Services, and Kendall County Food Pantry to help expand their reach and impact.
By providing refrigerated vans that are equipped for transporting fresh, perishable food supplies, Factor is doubling down on its commitment to these partners, helping to eliminate logistic challenges that many food pantries face.
“At Factor, we believe everyone deserves access to nutritious, wholesome meals so they can thrive,” said Dan Seidel, chief operations officer at HelloFresh North America, the parent company of Factor. “Many food banks doing vital work in our communities encounter limitations when it comes to cold storage and transportation. We hope this donation helps these organizations overcome those barriers and better meet the growing need.”
Through its Fuel for Change Initiative, Factor works with food banks and partner agencies in and around Aurora to provide ready-to-eat meals and surplus ingredients to people facing hunger.
“This generous donation from Factor is a game-changer for our local food banks and for families in need, who will now be able to receive fresher, healthier food more easily,” said Aurora Ward 5 Alderman Carl Franco. “This isn’t just about transportation; it’s about ensuring no one in our community goes hungry.”
This donation builds on Factor’s commitment, announced last year, to donate 10 refrigerated vans to organizations across the Feeding America Network.
“Northern Illinois Food Bank continues to serve more neighbors than ever before. We are incredibly grateful for Factor’s generous donations, partnership, and commitment to ending hunger throughout Northern Illinois and beyond,” said Mike Keane, director of programs at Northern Illinois Food Bank.
