Elderwerks to hold Speakeasy Night fundraiser in Barrington

Elderwerks will hold a Speakeasy Night fundraiser from 6-9 p.m. Friday, June 13, at Barrington’s White House, 145 W. Main St., Barrington. Tickets start at $75.

Celebrate in true 1920s style with live music, heavy appetizers, a cash bar, silent auction, 50/50 raffle and prohibition pull.

Stephanie Adlington, an award winning singer, song writer, and vocal coach from Nashville will perform. Attendees are encouraged to dress in their best 20s outfits, flapper dresses, pinstripe suits, or anything festive and comfortable. Once registered don't forget to write down the secret password to get into this one-night only event.

Funds raised from this event will help Elderwerks to provide essential services to low-income seniors and older adults in need.

Elderwerks is a complimentary, nonprofit organization offering older adults, seniors, caregivers, and families information, referrals, and guidance for all types of senior housing, care, benefits and services.

12th annual Aging Better Senior Expo

Elderwerks will hold a free, in-person, educational expo where attendees can learn, engage with speakers, resource booths, and more. The expo will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 13 at Stonegate Banquet & Conference Center, 2401 W. Higgins Road, Hoffman Estates.

It will include expert education, tips on aging topics, local resources, and prizes for registrants and attendees. Attendees can meet with more than 100 aging resources to learn about local service agencies, senior communities, businesses, and benefits. Valet parking is available. The livestream will showcase four educational seminars throughout the day.
