Lombard Garden Club awards scholarships to Glenbard East seniors

The Lombard Garden Club has selected three Glenbard East seniors as recipients for its 2025 scholarships.

Each graduating senior will receive $2,000 toward their college expenses. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic progress, extracurricular activities and recommendations from current teachers or counselors.

Caitlin Rossi was captain with the badminton program and an active member of the FFA (Future Farmers of America) chapter. One of the meaningful parts of her high school experience was empowering younger students to grow and discover their own passions. Caitlin plans to attend Augustana College and major in environmental management and forestry.

Lennea Condon

Lennea Condon was a member and co-captain on the varsity dance team. She believes it helped her learn the importance of hard work, a lesson that is helping prepare her for college. Lennea will attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and major in ACES (Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences).

Akshay Talreja

Akshay Talreja served as drum major of the Glenbard East Marching Rams, where he took on responsibility of leading the band during marching season. This exposure to leadership and teamwork will continue to influence him as he moves forward at the University of Illinois-Chicago where Akshay plans to major in environmental sciences and engineering.

The Lombard Garden Club uses proceeds from the annual lilac sale to fund the scholarship program. Students who apply must be Lombard residents who plan to attend a college and study the environment, horticulture, landscape design, botany, forestry or related fields.
