Man ordered detained pretrial in Lake Forest shooting
A man has been charged and ordered held following a shooting in Lake Forest over the weekend.
Matthew Moy, 35, was arrested on Sunday immediately following a shooting that left one person injured at the Prairie Wolf Off-Leash Dog Area in Lake Forest.
On Wednesday, prosecutors successfully argued for Moy to be detained ahead of further court appearances, arguing that he “escalated a minor altercation into an unjustified shooting of an unarmed victim in a public place,” according to a press release from the Lake County state’s attorney’s office.
Moy has been charged with one count of aggravated battery with a firearm, a Class X felony. He is due back in court on June 6.
