Pottawatomie Garden Club beautifies downtown St. Charles

Each spring and fall, the Pottawatomie Garden Club plants flowers around the municipal building and along the bridges in downtown St. Charles.

Once again, despite the rain on Wednesday, May 21, garden club members gathered to plant beautiful flowers supplied by Heinz Brothers Greenhouse Garden Center in St. Charles.

This is one of the many community projects that the garden club undertakes as part of its mission to beautify the city of St. Charles.

For more information about the Pottawatomie Garden Club and its activities go to the club’s website, www.pottagardenclub.org.

Save the date for the club’s biennial garden walk from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 28. Every other year, the club holds a garden walk for the public that showcases private home gardens in St. Charles.

This year, seven spectacular gardens will be offered to the public, along with the garden walk’s popular Boutique and Plant Sale.

The garden walk is the main fundraiser for the club, with proceeds going to fund many scholarships, community efforts and nonprofit organizations. Tickets are $25 until June 27. Order tickets online or stop by the following locations: in St. Charles, Heinz Brothers Greenhouse & Nursery, SG Too, Townhouse Books, Trellis Farm & Garden, and Wasco Nursery; and in Geneva, Scentimental Gardens.
