Kane County offers help with rent, utilities
Renters who are behind on payments and at risk of eviction can receive assistance through the Kane County Homeless Prevention Program.
The deadline to apply is July 31. The program can help with past-due and soon-due rent, past-due utility bills, and security deposits for new rentals. Applicants qualify if their income is at or below 80% of the area median, they live in a rental unit in Kane County, are behind on rent or utilities or live in unsafe or overcrowded conditions, lost income or received unemployment, haven’t received federal rental help, and haven’t applied for the program before.
The application is at zoomgrants.com. For more information, call Kim Lovely at (630) 444-1231 or Brittny M. Garica at (630) 232-5871.
