Fire damages Lombard home

A fire last week caused more than $100,000 in damage to a house in Lombard, officials announced Tuesday.

Officials said the fire happened around 11:51 a.m. on May 29 in the 1600 block of South Highland Avenue. All occupants exited safely before firefighters arrived.

The fire started in the basement.

Nobody was injured. The cause is under investigation.
