Showcase in Aurora Saturday honors legacy of Black musicians during Jim Crow era

A showcase honoring the legacy of Black musicians during the Jim Crow era will take place on Saturday, May 31, at the Cathedral of Grace St. John in Aurora.

The event, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 2950 Bilter Road, will feature live music by Josephine Beavers, founder and CEO of Musician’s Enduring Legacy Organization, and a screening of the PBS documentary “The Musicians’ Green Book: An Enduring Legacy.”

The free event aims to spark meaningful conversations and community engagement around the history and cultural impact of America’s musical pioneers.
