Rolling Meadows Celebrates Community at Family Services Day 2025

On Saturday, May 10, the City of Rolling Meadows’ Human Services Department hosted Family Services Day 2025, a vibrant community resource fair honoring women, mothers and all who nurture and uplift the city. The event celebrated the resilience and strength of the community by reminding residents of the power of participation and the importance of sharing resources.

Mayor Lara Sanoica and Human Services Director Dr. Natalia Nieves welcomed hundreds of residents to a day filled with connection, hope and belonging. Over 40 community organizations participated, offering resources and support to help families build healthier, more prosperous lives.

Sen. Mark Walker, Rep. Nicolle Grasse, Alderperson Stefanie Boucher, and Alderperson Kevin O’Brien were also in attendance, reaffirming their ongoing commitment to the department’s mission and vision. They have been steadfast in their efforts to ensure that human services remain accessible to all residents as a vital public service.

The success of Family Services Day was made possible by the Rolling Meadows Partners — a coalition of organizations dedicated to serving the community — and the support of the event sponsors. Among them were Meijer, the Rolling Meadows Park District, Hopeful Beginnings, Advanced Pre-School and the Illinois Tollway, whose contributions helped create a welcoming and meaningful experience for all.

The Human Services Department's social workers worked tirelessly behind the scenes to bring the event to life. From coordinating vendors and entertainment to managing logistics and decorations, their compassion and commitment were evident in every thoughtful detail.

City departments also played a key role:

• Public Works brought a popular truck display for kids.

• The Fire Department offered giveaways and fire engine tours.

• The Police Department grilled food donated by Meijer.

Family Services Day 2025 was a true reflection of the unity, strength, and compassion that defines the Rolling Meadows community. The city thanks all who made it possible.
