Elmhurst Farmers Market moving to a new location
Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church recently announced that it will be the new home of the Elmhurst Farmers Market, beginning Wednesday, June 4.
The market will be 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays in the church’s spacious parking lot at 149 W. Brush Hill Road in Elmhurst. The market will continue weekly through Oct. 29, bringing fresh produce, local vendors, and food trucks to the Elmhurst community and surrounding areas.
The decision to host the market is a natural extension of the church’s long-standing commitment to community engagement.
“When our church was being planned and built, our leaders had a vision of creating a space that would be welcoming to the entire community,” said Justin Paul Lawrence, executive director of Elmhurst CRC. “Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of hosting the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra, providing vaccine clinics during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, hosting community blood drives and offering space for various city of Elmhurst meetings. We see hosting the farmers market as an exciting new chapter in that same spirit — creating a vibrant and welcoming place where neighbors can gather and support local producers.”
The Elmhurst Farmers Market has long been a beloved tradition in the area, and the move to Elmhurst CRC promises room to grow and thrive.
Community members can look forward to a wide variety of fresh produce, artisan goods, and delicious eats, all in a family-friendly setting with easy access and plenty of room to enjoy the summer days.
An opening ceremony will be held on Wednesday, June 4, at 9:30 a.m. Mayor Scott Levin and other local leaders will attend.
