Brush fire in Island Lake scorches more than 100 acres

No injuries or property damage was reported from a brush fire Sunday evening in Island Lake that scorched more than 100 acres, fire officials said.

Multiple agencies helped extinguish the blaze that was first reported at about 5:30 p.m. near Route 176 and Bassler Drive.

The fire was extinguished by 7:30 p.m.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
