Hanover Township to conduct stroke risk assessment screenings in May

The Hanover Township Office of Community Health is offering Stroke Risk Assessment screenings for township residents during May in recognition of National Stroke Risk Awareness Month.

The screenings are $10 and include total cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar and BMI screenings.

Township nurses will review results and provide stroke prevention and education. Appointments are recommended.

Spotting the signs of a stroke using the acronym FAST can help to save a life. F is for facial droop, A is for arm weakness, S is for slurred speech, and T is for “time to call 911” if experiencing those symptoms.

To schedule an appointment for a screening at the township Senior Center in Bartlett, please call the Office of Community Health at (630) 483-5665 or email health@hanover-township.org.
