Neither party cares about national debt
In response to Veronique de Rugy’s recent column on debt, I just want to point out that Ross Perot ran in 1992, making the debt the centerpiece of his campaign. He earned nearly 20% of the popular vote. Within seven years, America had a budget surplus.
This was not a coincidence. Until the American public realizes once again that the two parties do not care about fiscal responsibility and send a clear message as they did in ‘92, we will continue to head down this path toward fiscal disaster.
