Officials: Five taken to hospital after school bus crash in Pingree Grove

Five people were taken to the hospital after a school bus crash in Pingree Grove on Tuesday, officials said.

The crash happened on Kendall Road just before 4 pm, according to a press release from the Pingree Grove Fire Protection District. Seven people were injured, 5 of whom were taken to local hospitals.

Crews from Pingree Grove and several nearby departments responded, including the Kane County sheriff’s office and officials from School District 301. The crash caused the closure of Kendall Road for over 2 hours.

The conditions of the five people transported are unknown. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
