A view from an altitude of just over 200 feet provides a unique perspective of an idle construction crane looming over the site of a 301-unit, eight-story apartment building being built at the southeast corner of Algonquin and Arlington Heights roads on Sunday, April 6, 2025, in Arlington Heights. Commercial real estate in this area has languished in recent years, and this site was most recently occupied by a closed office building, a bank, a Cash for Gold that had temporarily set up shop in on old gas station, and a short-lived Applebee’s restaurant. The project is due to be completed in 2026.
