Hawthorn Woods holding public hearing on proposed residential development

A special meeting and public hearing of Hawthorn Woods’ planning, building and zoning commission will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lake Zurich High School’s performing arts center, 300 Church St.

The meeting involves an application by M/I Homes of Chicago LLC to build 58 single-family homes, 52 duplexes and 94 townhouses in a project known as Kemper Ridge, east of the private Kemper Lakes Golf Club.

The proposed density and other elements have raised concerns among neighbors and the village of Long Grove.
