Cards, dealer and peace
Let us examine the cards (facts) that Ukraine has in their hand.
Russia has lost over 700,000 (KIA/WIA) troops and tons of material in three years of conflict. They now employ troops from North Korea on the front lines.
Ukraine has mineral deposits valuable to the entire world. In the new world order (since Jan 20, 2025) where financial payback is required when you shed your blood against a tyrant, Ukraine can divvy up her natural resources to all who have help over the past three years. President Trump thought up that idea, now the EU will want a slice. Those are popular President Zelenskyy’s hole cards. Putin has Trump as the dealer and a nuclear arsenal (the WWIII reference) up his sleeve.
Let’s hope our Congress does its job and continues to support Ukraine (the first domino?) in its fight for freedom against Putin’s dream of recreating the USSR. Our president tried to extort Ukraine once before and got impeached for it. He won’t suffer that fate this time. He wants a Nobel Peace Prize; he needs to work for it and come up with a fair settlement, one that ends the fighting and does not reward Putin.
While it also provides protection for Ukraine and President Trump’s coveted rare-earth mineral deposits.
