Man shot on Aurora’s west side Wednesday

Aurora police are investigating after a man was shot Wednesday on the city’s west side.

According to a press release from the Aurora Police Department, officers responded to a report of a battery on the 700 block of Spruce Street at about 5:15 p.m. on April 2 and found a man suffering from a single gunshot wound.

The man was taken to the hospital with injuries that police say did not appear to be life-threatening.

Detectives from the department’s Investigations Bureau and evidence technicians responded to the scene. Police say that, at this time, there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the public.

The investigation remains active, and police ask that anyone with information call the Aurora Police Department’s Investigations Division at (630) 256-5500.
