Hear the story of Mary Magdalene at Wheaton’s Gary UMC on April 9
This Lent, hear the story of Mary Magdalene, like never before, at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, at Gary United Methodist Church, 224 N. Main St. in Wheaton.
Professional storyteller Megan Wells is known for creating an intimate storytelling atmosphere, infusing her characters with living souls and delivering the experience with delicious theatrical timing. Hear her share the story of Mary Magdalene, witness to the cross and empty tomb.
The church will begin Holy Week with Palm Sunday on April 13 at 9 and 11:11 a.m.
Maundy Thursday on April 17 will start with a communal meal at 5:30 p.m. and worship at 6:30 p.m. and Good Friday worship at 7 p.m. Friday, April 18.
Easter Sunday on April 20 will begin with an outdoor sunrise service at 6 a.m. on the church steps near Main Street. Traditional Easter worship is at 9 and 11:11 a.m., with an Easter egg hunt at 10:15 a.m. in Memorial Park.
