Learn about programs at Elgin’s Hawthorne Hill Nature Center at April 1 meeting

On Tuesday, April 1, the Elgin Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America will present a program featuring Hawthorne Hill Nature Center program coordinator Devon Eldridge.

Eldridge will explain where she develops and leads nature programs, manages event logistics, and contributes to exhibit development of Hawthorne Hill Nature Center’s Discovery Room.

With a Master of Science in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology and a background in wildlife sciences, Eldridge specializes in entomology. Her favorites being native bees and parasitoid wasps. Her experience includes informal education in children’s museums, specimen curation, and invasive species management.

Passionate about environmental education, Eldridge strives to foster meaningful connections between children and nature through hands-on learning experiences.

The program will be at 7 p.m. at the Hawthorne Hill Nature Center, 28 Brookside Drive, Elgin. The one-hour program is free and open to the public.
