Effective experience in the trenches
Long before she was mayor, Lora Vitek was busy helping make St. Charles a better place to live. She served as a commissioner on the St. Charles Youth Commission and advocated for the Save Lincoln School initiative.
Then she was elected 4th Ward Alderperson and became deeply involved with her constituents and their issues. She also became a strong leader, creating a public-private partnership that led to the completion of First Street and the First Street Plaza project. All of this experience in the trenches made Ms. Vitek a strong choice for mayor in 2021.
But it’s her performance over the last four years that’s proven her to be not just a good mayor but a great one. Only a great mayor achieves a $21 million savings in the city’s general obligation debt (from $109 million to $88 million) and maintains the city’s Aa1 bond rating (which saves taxpayer money) while increasing our city’s tax revenue and welcoming important new developments like Whole Foods.
And it takes a great Mayor to pledge increased transparency of key issues like the Fox River Dam and commit to improved communications. From track record and problem solving to values and dedication, Lora Vitek offers exactly what we need and must be re-elected.
