Des Plaines restaurant received threatening call, police say

Someone called a Des Plaines restaurant and threatened to harm the business and its occupants during an event scheduled for this past weekend, police said Monday in a news release.

The threat was made Wednesday afternoon against Ostras, 3003 Mannheim Road. The caller threatened violence on Saturday. None occurred.

The employee who received the call described the caller as male, and the phone number the caller used was blocked, police said.

No other details were available.
