Glen Ellyn candidates to square off Saturday in League of Women Voters forums
The Glen Ellyn chapter of the League of Women Voters will conduct a series of forums on Saturday, March 22, featuring school board, village board and township candidates running in the April election.
The League is set to hold the “Glen Ellyn Voter Expo” starting with a welcome at 8:30 a.m. at Glenbard South High School off Butterfield Road.
All five candidates in the Glen Ellyn Elementary District 89 school board race are expected to participate in a forum from 8:45 to 9:30 a.m., according to Gail Bernstein and Deb Hornell, who lead the LWVGE Voter Services.
The five hopefuls — Lyndsay Cowles, Alex Mayster, incumbent Steven Neurauter, Ariel Steffens and Laura Wilmarth Tyna — are seeking four available board seats in District 89.
All three Milton Township supervisor candidates — Elizabeth “Buffy” Higgins-Beard, Dan Milinko and incumbent John Monino — are also slated to appear at a forum from 11:15 to 11:55 a.m.
Among other races, those candidates not attending the event had prior commitments.
The election is April 1.
