Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District hosts referendum open houses

The Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District is hosting two open houses regarding for a ballot question seeking voter approval to borrow $25 million to build a new fire station at 3750 Deerfield Road and buy emergency response fleet and equipment.

Owners of a home valued at $600,000 would pay an additional $232 in property taxes per year. The new station would replace two aging stations, improve response times, enhance firefighter safety and increase efficiency without reducing staffing, according to the department.

The meetings will be held at 7 p.m. March 20 and 27, at the Station 53, 671 Woodlands Parkway, Vernon Hills. Visit www.lrfpd.org/minutesmatter for more information.
