What is the most serious issue your community will face in the coming years and how should the village board respond to it?
Improving ongoing communication with residents.
How would you describe the state of your community's finances? What should be the top priorities for spending during the next few years? Are there areas of spending that need to be curtailed?
An excellent and well balanced budget; top priorities ongoing infrastructure improvements, facade improvements on main street, budget items with supporters for community events.
What do you see as the most important infrastructure project the community must address? Why and how should it be paid for? Conversely, during these uncertain economic times, what project(s) can be put on the back burner?
Continue the street improvements with the help of state and federal grants. Many of the projects must have 2 to 3 bids before any work can begin and this process takes time and effort to coordinate.
Describe your experience working in a group setting to determine policy. What is your style in such a setting to reach an agreement and manage local government? Explain how you think that will be effective in producing effective actions and decisions with your village board.
I am a team player and I will review and read information presented to me by various departments in order to proceed with decisions. With the information from various departments and agencies, I will be able to discuss and approve or disapprove decisions concerning my vote.
What makes you the best candidate for the job?
I have 45 years administrative background in the business world. I have been serving in the nonprofit community areas as part of a board to approve or disapprove recommendations. I have been involved with the elderly community support and the homeless groups.
What’s one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?
I am willing to help with the website improvements and also spend the time to volunteer when necessary to assist the village with various programs.
