Aurora’s Wesley UMC continues Lenten series on prayer
On Sunday, March 16, Wesley United Methodist Church, 14 N. May St. in Aurora, will continue the Lenten sermon series, “A Praying Church: Becoming a People of Prayer.”
The Rev. Tammy Scott will preach on “When Prayer Feels Hard,” the second of six Lenten sermons. Worship is 9:30 a.m. online at wesleyumcaurora.online.church and in-person at 10:30 a.m. in the church sanctuary.
Pastor Scott continues her sermon series with “From Routine to Relationship,” March 23; “Leading with Love: A Prayerful Church,” March 30; “The Power of Praying Together,” April 6; and “Prayer that Moves Us to Action,” April 13.
A public prayer board has been installed in the church narthex. Pastor Scott invites congregants to post prayers with words or shapes. Note papers, pens and scissors are supplied.
“Encourage one another in prayer — lifting up the needs of our church, our neighbors and the world,” Rev. Scott wrote. “As we walk this Lenten path together, let us remember that prayer is not about getting the words right. It is about abiding in God's love, listening for God's voice and trusting in God's faithfulness. May this season draw us deeper into Communion with God and one another.”
