Huntley church to host Lenten adult study series

A Lenten adult study series, “24 Hours that Changed the World,” continues on Fridays through April 18 at Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church in Huntley. It will be 11 a.m. to noon at the church, 10805 Main St. in Huntley.

The aim of this study is to help better understand the events that occurred during the last 24 hours of Jesus’ life; to see more clearly the theological significance of Christ’s suffering and death; and to reflect upon the meaning of these events for your life.

This 24-hour period will be explored through reflections on biblical foundations, video presentations and discussions. The video segments feature Adam Hamilton speaking from one of the sites in Jerusalem traditionally associated with the events the Gospels record as taking place during Jesus’ final 24 hours.

The schedule will be: “The Garden of Gethsemane” on March 14; “Condemned by the Righteous” on March 21; “Jesus, Barabbas, and Pilate” on March 28; “The Torture and Humiliation of the King” on April 4; “The Crucifixion” on April 11; and “Christ the Victor” on April 18.
