The right candidate for village’s future

Jim Tinaglia has been an Arlington Heights resident for 50 years. I have known Jim as a neighbor and a friend for 25 of those years. We coached our daughter’s youth soccer teams for several years and worked together philanthropically raising funds for Hersey High School athletic programs.

More recently, I have known Jim as a dedicated civil servant. For the past 22 years, he has tirelessly served our village, both on the Village Design Committee for 11 years and the past 12 years as an elected trustee.

What makes Jim the right candidate for our future is not just his history of serving Arlington Heights, but his proficiency as an architect. The development of the former Arlington Park Racetrack, whether by the Chicago Bears, or alternative uses, needs to proceed with disciplined oversight and an educated understanding of the impacts the redevelopment will have on our community. With his professional background in land planning, architecture and development, Jim is the right candidate to lead us through these processes.

As mayor, Jim’s history and understanding of Arlington Heights will ensure that our past is protected while his expertise as an architect will ensure that future growth will only move forward in a fashion that benefits our existing business community and all residents.
