Some want democracy’s end
Wake up America, we are in the middle of witnessing the destruction of our democratic republic and the formation of an authoritarian administration run by a single dictator enabled by oligarchs who are only for themselves. We have been warned for a long time but, apparently, those warnings fell upon deaf ears. A name that I recently came across is Curtis Yarvin. From Wikipedia, “Curtis Yarvin along with Nick Land founded the anti-egalitarian and anti-democratic philosophical movement known as the ‘Dark Enlightenment’ or neo-reactionary movement. He argues that American democracy is a failed experiment that should be replaced by an accountable monarchy, an oxymoron. Yarvin has influenced some prominent Silicon Valley Investors and Republican politicians, with venture capitalist Peter Thiel described as his most important connection.
Steve Bannon has read and admired his work. Vice President JD Vance, whom Peter Thiel convinced Trump to pick as his VP, has cited Yarvin as an influence. The Director of Policy Planning during Trump’s second presidency, Michael Anton, has also discussed Yarvin’s ideas. In January 2025, Yarvin attended a Trump inaugural gala in Washington, Politico reported he was “an informal guest of honor” due to his out-sized influence over the Trumpian right.
In order to create the monarchy (think dictatorship), Yarvin came up with a very simple acronym, RAGE, retire all government employees. JD Vance took this to heart as he was explaining to a podcaster Jack Murphy, “conservatives have to get comfortable with wielding power and overcoming their fears of a dictatorship.” Vance went on to further explain, to accomplish the goal of the destruction of the democratic republic and usher in the new authoritarian dictatorship, we must “rip out like a tumor, the current American leadership class.” Or the “Deep State” cited by Kash Patil.
Are you OK with a dictatorship?
