Buffalo Grove votes village manager $30,000 bonus

Buffalo Grove village board members have rewarded Village Manager Dane Bragg with a $30,000 bonus for his performance in 2024.

Bragg earns a base salary of $319,183.

Trustees lauded Bragg’s performance at the Feb. 18 meeting, when the bonus was approved.

Trustee Frank Cesario praised Bragg’s leadership. He said the village is enjoying record reserves and record capital investment.

“This village staff engages in very long-term planning. We have a village manager who participates throughout all facets of our community,” he said.

Trustee David Weidenfeld said this is the sixth year that Buffalo Grove has not raised real estate taxes and pointed to the village’s AAA bond rating.

He said Bragg empowers village staff to come up with creative solutions, including using the old public works building as a temporary fire station.

“Simply put, the proof is in the pudding,” Trustee Lester Ottenheimer III said. “We're here because of Dane and our staff.”
