DEI defies merit
Regarding your misguided editorial from Feb. 9, Branch Rickey didn’t hire Jackie Robinson because he was black. He hired him because he was a great ballplayer. It was based on merit. DEI is a racist concept, attempting to “level the field” through favorable treatment of those less qualified. It’s the ultimate insult to those who are more qualified regardless of race. DEI is a corrosive, racist concept that should be banned from our society unless you think moving toward Marxism is a good idea. BTW, how has that worked out in the past?
