Shots fired near Des Plaines park, police say

Someone fired a gun early Thursday on the 1500 block of Thacker Street in Des Plaines, police said.

No one was reported hurt.

A resident called police about 2:40 a.m. after hearing gunshots near a park by their house, according to a news release.

The person reported seeing two people running from the area, police said.

Police searched the area but made no arrests. Shell casings and other pieces of evidence were recovered, police said.

The shooting remains under investigation.
