Boy hospitalized after being hit by car; injuries are not life-threatening, police say

No citations were issued after a boy was hit by a car Tuesday afternoon in Batavia, officials said.

A driver on the 200 block of Kirk Road around 4:30 p.m. when they struck an 8-year-old who was crossing the street, according to a release from the Batavia Police Department.

The boy was taken to a hospital with injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening, the release stated.

An investigation by the Batavia Police Department determined the victim was crossing outside of a designated crosswalk area and the driver of the vehicle was not at fault, according to the release.
