Roselle community celebrates library volunteer’s decades of service

The Roselle Public Library Foundation board recently honored outgoing member Elaine Pizzicaro, who served on the board for 18 years. She also had served for 21 years on the Roselle Public Library District board of trustees.

As a library district trustee, she represented the library on various village and chamber of commerce committees.

At the foundation level, Pizzicaro was instrumental in promoting the library and its services to residents and businesses alike by assisting in planning fundraising activities, such as the annual appeal, antique appraisals, dine-to-donate to name a few. For many years, she volunteered at the annual Taste of Roselle.

The Roselle Library Foundation serves the library district in many ways by raising and donating funds to support major capital improvements, including such items as renovation of the services area, roof and drainage repair, and lighting updates.

The foundation has also contributed to special children's programs, newspaper and magazine subscriptions, and software licenses.
