Zelenskyy calls for US and Europe to band together to support Ukraine in war against Russia

MUNICH — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is calling for the United States and Europe to band together to support Ukraine in the war against Russia.

Zelenskyy spoke Friday to the Munich Security Conference.

U.S. President Donald Trump this week upended years of steadfast U.S. support for Ukraine. Zelenskyy is expected to meet with U.S. Vice President JD Vance later.

Many observers, particularly in Europe, hope Vance will shed at least some light on Trump’s ideas for a negotiated settlement to the war following a phone call between Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin this week.
