Defining ‘insurrection’

Today, leaders of the Democrat party called on Americans to “fight in the streets.” Are they insurrectionists or was that just a figure of speech? I guess it just depends who is saying it. One man was accused of treason for it, the legacy media will just explain that Democrats were just expressing their feelings.
