$1.74 million contract approve to expand, upgrade Lake County public works office

Lake County’s public works building on the Libertyville government campus will be updated and expanded.

The Lake County Board this week approved a $1.74 million contract with Stuckey Construction Company, Inc. of Waukegan to add 2,393 square feet of office space, install a sprinkler system to bring the building up to current life safety standards and upgrade the heating, ventilation, and cooling system.

The project was budgeted for $1.3 million but increased primarily due to the necessity of adding fire suppression throughout the entire building and previously unforeseen HVAC improvements, county officials said.
