Des Plaines man accused of threatening worker with gun

A Des Plaines man was arrested Tuesday evening after police said he used a gun to threaten an employee at a local business.

Sean Njoku, 21, of the 1900 block of Webster Lane, is charged with felony aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and two misdemeanor counts of aggravated assault.

The confrontation reportedly occurred at a business on the 1200 block of South Elmhurst Road. Officers responding to a 911 call found Njoku had a loaded 9mm handgun in the waistband of his pants, police said in a news release.

Witnesses said Njoku had lifted his shirt to reveal the gun during an argument, according to the release.

Njoku has a valid firearm owners identification card but not a concealed carry license, police said.
