Narcan vending machine installed at Rolling Meadows city hall

A vending machine containing the overdose-reversing medication Narcan and fentanyl test strips has been installed at Rolling Meadows city hall.

Located on the second floor in the police department lobby at 3600 Kirchoff Road, the resource is available for free through a partnership between the city’s human services department and Elk Grove Village-based Kenneth Young Center, which will restock and maintain the machine.

Officials say it represents a crucial step in combating the opioid crisis.

“We recognize the importance of making Narcan easily accessible to those who need it most,” said Natalia Nieves, the department’s director. “By placing the vending machine in a public, accessible location, we empower residents to take immediate action in emergencies.”
