2 Lake Zurich schools closed due to fire at power pole

May Whitney Elementary and Lake Zurich High schools were closed Friday after a small fire overnight on a nearby power pole, officials said.

The compromised pole supports power lines responsible for feeding electricity to the two schools and the Professional Development Center, which houses the Lake Zurich Unit District 95 Transportation Department.

All other District 95 schools were open on Friday.
