Bell Works Chicagoland named Hoffman Estates Chamber’s Business of the Year

On the verge of what’s touted to be its most substantive year yet, the self-described “Metroburb” of Bell Works Chicagoland was named Business of the Year at the Hoffman Estates Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s 14th annual Celebration of Excellence.

In its ambitious plan to redevelop the sprawling former AT&T headquarters, New Jersey-based Inspired by Somerset Development spent 2024 preparing to complete the commercial leasing of the east wing of the main building and to start the imminent construction of 164 adjacent townhouse units.

The chamber’s New Business of the Year award went to the eatery I Smell Bacon BBQ & Pub, started by Mark Mueller, a retired Hoffman Estates police lieutenant and onetime mayoral and trustee candidate for the village board.

Small Business of the Year was presented to Minuteman Press Hoffman Estates.

Rotary Club of Schaumburg-Hoffman Estates was recognized as the chamber’s Service Organization of the Year.
