The DuPage Symphony Orchestra invites the community to a free open rehearsal at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at Naperville’s Wentz Concert Hall.

Rose Armbrust Griffin, an accomplished music educator and violist, brings a wealth of experience to the stage. A graduate of The Juilliard School, The Curtis Institute of Music, and Indiana University, she has performed with world-class musicians such as Itzhak Perlman and Joshua Bell, and with groups including The Chicago Ensemble and Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra.

Her passion for teaching has led her to train students who have gone on to attend prestigious institutions like Curtis and Juilliard.

Attendees will enjoy a unique, behind-the-scenes look at how the DuPage Symphony Orchestra prepares for its upcoming performance. Guests can come and go throughout the evening, making it an ideal experience for families with young children or anyone curious about the rehearsal process.

The event also will include an Instrument Petting Zoo for all ages to explore and learn about the instruments of the orchestra.

“This open rehearsal is a fantastic way to share the creative process with our community,” said Mari Ullrick, strategic director of operations and engagement. “We’re thrilled to feature Rose Armbrust Griffin, whose incredible talent and dedication to music education make her an inspiration for audiences of all ages. This is a wonderful opportunity for families to experience the magic of live music in a relaxed, welcoming environment.”

The rehearsal begins at 7:30 p.m., with a meet-and-greet with the DuPage Symphony musicians at 8:30 p.m. at Wentz Concert Hall on the North Central College campus, 171 E. Chicago Ave. in Naperville. Admission is free, with treats provided by MyChef.
