Naperville native to lead expansion of Inside Out Club’s teen programs

Inside Out Club recently added Naperville native Gina Curtis as its new teen program manager. With deep roots in the community and a proven track record in education and leadership, Curtis brings her passion and expertise to help expand Inside Out Club’s middle and high school programs, empowering more students with essential life skills and values.

Curtis, who grew up in Indian Prairie Unit District 204 and still resides in the area with her husband and four children, is no stranger to the impact of Inside Out Club.

“I’ve witnessed the impact of Inside Out Club’s programs firsthand in schools and on my family, and I’m excited to help bring these programs to middle and high schoolers in our community,” she shared. “As someone who partnered with Inside Out Club in the past, I’ve seen how these initiatives transform students’ lives by teaching them valuable life skills and fostering a sense of purpose.”

As teen program manager, Curtis will focus on growing participation in Inside Out Club’s middle and high school initiatives. Her responsibilities include forming partnerships with schools and organizations, coordinating program logistics, recruiting and managing volunteers, and facilitating programs that teach critical skills like emotional intelligence, collaboration, and social responsibility.

Curtis brings a wealth of experience to the role. As the founder and administrator of Arrow Accelerated Academy in Naperville, she developed and led a Montessori-inspired private school, drawing on her expertise in curriculum design, business administration, and program management. Before that, she spent over a decade as a social studies teacher at Glenbard West High School, where she spearheaded mentoring programs, equity initiatives, and civic engagement efforts.

Executive director Marion Ruthig expressed enthusiasm for Curtis’s addition to the team, saying, “Gina’s dedication to empowering youth, her innovative approach to education, and her deep ties to the Naperville community make her the perfect fit for this role. We’re excited to have her lead the growth of our teen programs and further our mission to empower youth to live each day with good character.”

Inside Out Club continues to expand its reach through its middle school program, Business Designers 4 Good, an initiative that inspires teens to solve real-world problems through innovative and socially responsible business solutions, and SkillsBox10, a new high school program currently in development. SkillsBox10 helps students build 10 key life skills through the authentic experience of designing, planning, and hosting their own event.

Curtis’ appointment as teen program manager marks an exciting step forward for Inside Out Club’s mission to equip youth with the skills and mindset needed to thrive in life, school, and future careers as well as instill a desire to make a positive impact in their communities.
